New Delhi. The first day’s play of the Dharamsala Test is over, India has scored 135 runs for the loss of one wicket. At the end of the first day’s play, India trailed England by 83 runs. For India, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill remained unbeaten, the Indian captain contributed 52 runs, while Shubman Gill scored 26 runs. Earlier, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bat first. The English team continued to struggle till 218 runs, losing its wickets continuously. In reply, the opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal for India was impressive as they added 104 runs for the first wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a stormy innings and scored 57 runs in 58 balls. However, he was dismissed by Shoaib Bashir. Rohit Sharma handled the innings with a strong performance.
Fifty from Jack Crawley, but other batsmen faltered…
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, openers Jack Crawley and Ben Duckett gave a good start to the England team and added 64 runs for the first wicket. However, after this there was a flurry of wickets. Especially the middle-order batsmen of England had no answer to the Indian spinners. With the fall of the fourth wicket at 175 runs, 8 of England’s batsmen had returned to the pavilion at 183 runs.
