Jeddah ,. Preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia. Before this visit, enthusiasm among Indian and local citizens living in Saudi Arabia is at its peak. Especially Jeddah’s overseas Indians are considering this visit of PM Modi as historic.
Along with this, efforts to promote Prime Minister Modi’s yoga globally are also highly appreciated. The tour will not only deepen the long-standing strong ties between India and Saudi Arabia, but will also promote cultural and spiritual exchange.
This tour is no less than a celebration for the Indian community living in Jeddah. Overseas Indians have described the opportunity as “golden” and “historical”. An Indian migrant Salwa Almadani said, “When our Prime Minister Narendra Modi comes here, we Indians will consider it a holy land. We are very excited and happy that Prime Minister Modi is coming to Saudi Arabia.
Similarly, students of International Indian School Jeddah are also excited about this tour. Student Nihan Avful said, “It is a big thing for us to see Prime Minister Modi in front of us. We are all waiting for this opportunity eagerly.”
Another student Soha said that she has prepared special cultural programs for this occasion. He said that we have rehearsed Dandiya and many dance performances. We are very excited.
Shirin Farhana, director of Pheenom Academy, also expressed her happiness, saying, “This is my second home, and welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very special for me. I am eager to see him personally.”
Gada Asad, a resident of Jeddah, said, “I am happy that Prime Minister Modi is coming to Jeddah. This is his first Jeddah tour. There are decades-old relations between India and Saudi Arabia. Our herbs and basmati rice come from India. I love this relationship.”
Gada Asad said, “We are honored with the Prime Minister of India. There have always been strong and historical relations between Saudi Arabia and India. This tour will further strengthen these relationships. Prime Minister Modi’s arrival here is a big thing for Saudi people. We welcome them wholeheartedly.”
Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia, efforts to promote his yoga globally are also being discussed. The popularity of yoga in Saudi Arabia is growing rapidly and locals consider it an integral part of their lives.
Gada Asad said, “I have been practicing yoga for the last ten years. It has been very beneficial for my mental and physical health. My physical problems were, and yoga helped to reduce my pain. I advise everyone to yoga.”
Salwa Madani shared his experience of yoga, saying, “Yoga changed my life. First I had many physical problems, but everything went well after starting yoga. I decided that I will teach others about yoga too.”
Yoga has gained a new identity globally since Prime Minister Modi’s proposal to establish International Yoga Day in the United Nations in 2014. Its effect is also clearly visible in Saudi Arabia. Salwa Madni said, “I want to thank Prime Minister Modi for promoting yoga. Now everywhere in Saudi Arabia, people know the benefits of yoga. Schools, colleges, malls, gyms, yoga is happening everywhere. It is for men and women, to all. It is inspiring to see Prime Minister Modi doing yoga in India. Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, a member of the overseas Indians said, “We are all very excited and this is really a golden opportunity to meet our Indian Prime Minister. Our preparations are going well, but we are very nervous and excited to perform in front of them tomorrow.”
