Brussels: The European Union (EU) has imposed more sanctions on North Korea over its continued efforts to develop ballistic and nuclear missiles and its support to Russia. The EU Council said on Friday that these travel and asset bans will affect nine more people and institutions. This organization of European countries started imposing sanctions on North Korea in 2006 on the lines of United Nations sanctions over North Korea’s nuclear and missile tests. The EU Council has so far imposed sanctions on a total of 77 people and 20 companies or institutions. The EU said that the Council has imposed sanctions on six more people and three bodies. North Korea has launched at least 22 missiles this year.
North Korean missiles fired on Ukraine
Let us tell you that, regarding the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, it has been said from the US that Russia is using North Korean weapons in the war. Now a new Pentagon report has also come out regarding this. This report says that Russia is using North Korean ballistic missiles in Ukraine. Citing analysis of debris, the report confirms the allegations that Pyongyang is sending weapons to Moscow.
Russia attacks North Korea with missiles
A report by the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency has used open-source imagery to confirm that debris found in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region in January this year belonged to a short-range ballistic missile made in North Korea. In a statement released with the report, the DIA said, “The analysis confirms that Russia has used North Korean-made ballistic missiles in the war against Ukraine.” The report also said that debris of North Korean missiles has been found across Ukraine.
