New Delhi. For the Indian cricket team, this year’s T20 World Cup is going to be almost like the last one. Although there was a change in the format then, but Team India’s journey to the semi-finals was somewhat similar to this time. It is an amazing coincidence that in the last World Cup too, India faced England in the semi-finals. This time the team is different and the fans are hopeful that the result will also be different.
People are waiting to see when Team India’s drought of winning the ICC T20 World Cup will end. Last year, Team India reached the finals of the ODI World Cup but Australia shattered their dream of winning the trophy. India defeated them in the Super 8 and showed them the way out of the tournament and took revenge. Now it is time to take revenge from the English team.
Tournament almost same as last time
The Indian team also entered the semi-finals by topping its group in the T20 World Cup hosted by Australia in the year 2022. Then Team India topped the table by winning 4 out of 5 matches. Pakistan, South Africa, Netherlands, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe were placed in the group with India. Four teams reached the semi-finals out of two groups of 6 teams. Then, like this time, England made it to the last four by finishing second from the opposite group. The second semi-final of the tournament was played between India and England. This time too, Rohit Sharma will play in the second semi-final.
Rohit Sharma would like to change history
Last time, India had to be out of the tournament after losing in the semi-finals against the English team. India had scored 168 runs for 6 wickets and England had made it to the finals by achieving the target of victory by 10 wickets without losing any wicket. This time Rohit Sharma’s team is in a different form. India is waiting for a T20 World Cup since 2007 but no captain has been able to achieve it so far. Rohit Sharma himself missed out last time but this time he would like to change history and repeat Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s feat.
