New Delhi: Navy Chief Admiral DK Tripathi had a special conversation with India TV. During this, he answered questions about the Agneepath scheme. He said that this is a very transformative scheme and it is a golden opportunity for our youth to serve in the country’s army for at least 4 years.
He said that this is the fourth batch that has passed out today. I have been associated with this scheme in some form or the other since 2022. I remember that when this scheme was announced in June 2022, I was the Chief of Personnel at the Navy Headquarters. When our first batch came to Chilika, I came in December 2022 and tried to know how much enthusiasm there is among the Agniveers. From that day till today, this enthusiasm has been found to be increasing. I took inputs from the Commanding Officer, Fleet Commander and Commander in Chief and also went to the sea myself and talked to the Agniveers, they are working with a lot of enthusiasm and passion.
