If the exit poll results are to be believed, then two stars of the Congress party may have to go through difficulties after the counting of votes on March 10. The Axis-India Today survey has claimed 76-90 seats for the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab with 41 per cent of the votes polled. ABP News has predicted 32-38 seats for Congress in Uttarakhand in its result. Whereas BJP is likely to get only 26-32 seats. If the results of Punjab and Uttarakhand come like this, then along with Rahul, the political understanding of Priyanka Gandhi can be questioned.
Loss to Congress in Punjab, Captain flop, AAP’s rise
Apart from India Today-Axis, ABP has also expressed the possibility of Aam Aadmi Party (51-61) forming the government in Punjab. The Congress Party (22-28) has been described as the second largest party. BJP is getting (07-13) and Shiromani Akali Dal is getting 20-26 seats. By May 2021, the Congress party was traveling to its heights in Punjab. In the Panchayat elections, the Congress had soured the teeth of the opposition parties. But then the Chief Minister of Punjab was Captain Amarinder Singh. Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu was trying to beat Capt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra supported Sidhu in this campaign and everything changed. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, sensing the intentions of Rahul and Priyanka, crowned Sidhu in place of the then Punjab chief Sunil Jakhar. The Captain resigned, rebelled against the party and went with the BJP by forming a new party. The new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh became Channi, but Navjot Singh Sidhu continued to trouble the Congress party with his statements.
Harish Rawat’s face killed in Uttarakhand?
ABP News-C-Voter survey has given 26-32 seats to BJP, 32-38 to Congress in Uttarakhand. India Today-Axis has also given 36-46 seats to BJP and 20-30 seats to Congress in its forecast. However, India Today-Axis has projected 40 per cent votes for the Congress. The stalwart leader of Uttarakhand, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat had to impose the biggest veto ever to maintain his politics. After this, Congress President Sonia Gandhi intervened. Former party president Rahul Gandhi and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi tried to persuade Harish Rawat and strike a balance. According to ABP News and Aaj Tak-India Today, it is only after Harish Rawat’s influence in the Congress is to be believed that the Congress is moving close to getting a majority to form the government in Uttarakhand.
…then the political strength of Priyanka and Rahul will get a setback.
BJP leader Dnyaneshwar Shukla says Priyanka Gandhi is also a ‘picnic doll’ of Congress. The election results of the five states will prove his understanding, acumen, political campaign and leadership ability. Dnyaneshwar says that Congress General Secretary is in charge of Uttar Pradesh. He has given his whole life to the campaign and the party, but even if the Congress gets 20 seats, it is a big deal. A Samajwadi Party strategist leader said that any comment is not right now. This is only a forecast. However, he believes that if the results come according to the forecast, internal strife will increase once again within the Congress party. The image of the number-2 and number-3 leaders of the party may get a blow.
Congress-BJP close fight in Goa
There is a close fight between Congress and BJP. There is a possibility of a hung assembly. ABP News-C-Voter survey is pointing in this direction. BJP can get 13-17, Congress 12-16, AAP 1-5 and TMC 5-9 seats. It has to be seen here whether the Congress shows sluggishness like in 2017, or can be successful in forming the government. Here too the decision of the Congress High Command is likely to be a test of fire.
