Alakh Pandey was born in a small village in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He dreamed of acting and used to participate in local plays while growing up. However, due to financial difficulties, Pandey started teaching tuition to class 8 students. Pandey could not crack the JEE exam. After this, he took admission in Harcourt Butler College, Kanpur to do B.Tech, but he left the college without taking a B.Tech degree. Pandey later joined the teaching profession.
Started teaching children
He entered the education sector in the digital age and started his own YouTube channel instead of teaching as a professor in college. Later Pandey started teaching students through it. His first earning was only Rs 5,000, which he got as tuition fees. Later he built a company worth Rs 9100 crore. Alakh Pandey is today one of the richest young entrepreneurs coming out of Uttar Pradesh. His firm Physics Wala now has 61 YouTube channels and more than 31 million users.
Started making YouTube videos of teaching
In the year 2016, Alakh Pandey started making YouTube videos to teach underprivileged children. His videos attracted people’s attention during the coronavirus pandemic. After this, he launched the app in 2020. Now this ed-tech company has a total of more than 500 teachers and 100 technical staff.
