According to the instructions of District Collector and District Magistrate Kishore Kumar, the Food Safety Department took major action against adulterants in Tijara on Wednesday. Food Safety Officer Hemant Kumar Yadav said that on the information of the informer, the department had planned to take action by making fake customers.
The fake customer was sent to a shop on Ferozepur Road, where he demanded lactose monohydrate dry powder and spray dry skimmed milk powder. Shopkeeper Ravi Kumar took the cash of lactose monohydrate with cash.
The Food Safety Department team present on the spot immediately raided and seized the bag. If a bill of food items was sought from the seller, he could not present the bill. Investigations revealed that these materials were used to prepare adulterated milk and were sold to dairy operators and milk vendors.
The department then conducted a thorough search of the warehouse, with 16 bags of lactose monohydrate dry powder and two bags dry skimmed milk powder (Dholpur fresh brand). They have been seized by taking samples of all bags.
The Food Safety Officer said that all the samples will be sent to the laboratory for investigation and after the report arrives, strict legal action will be taken under the FSSAI Act 2006.
