Bastar. Bastar Police took Suresh Chandrakar, the main accused in the journalist Mukesh Chandrakar murder case, into custody from Hyderabad late last night. Suresh Chandrakar was absconding since the incident, and the police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to search for him. After the arrest of the accused, the police said that the interrogation of Suresh Chandrakar is currently going on. Police hope that during the interrogation, the reason for the murder and other important evidence related to the incident will be revealed.
It is noteworthy that this matter had become a topic of much discussion in the area. The murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar had raised questions on law and order across the state. This action of the police has been appreciated by the victim’s family and the journalist community.
Police statement: “We have detained the accused Suresh Chandrakar from Hyderabad. Sufficient evidence has been found against him. Further action will be taken after interrogation,” Bastar police informed.
