New Delhi. Farmers are once again preparing to march to Delhi with their demands. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that a tractor march has been announced across the country on 15 August. Farmers have been protesting at Shambhu border of Punjab and Haryana for a long time and at present this border is closed. On completion of 200 days of this protest on 31 August, farmer organizations have appealed to farmers across the country to gather at Shambhu border in maximum numbers.
It is worth noting that on February 13 this year, the farmers of Punjab had left for Delhi with many other demands including legal guarantee of MSP, but the Haryana government stopped them at Shambhu border of Patiala and Ambala. Since then, a large number of farmers are camping at Shambhu border. On the other hand, the Punjab-Haryana High Court had recently ordered the opening of Shambhu border and gave a week’s time to the government for this, but its deadline ended on July 17 and the border could not be opened.

On the other hand, UP farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that farmers across the country have to face different problems at different places. The government is not increasing the circle rate of land, while the salaries and allowances of officers and employees are continuously increasing. Due to irregular water supply, paddy crops are drying up and getting ruined. Our demand is that the circle rate and compensation given in Noida should be fixed everywhere according to the same. Tikait said, farmers will get something only if the agitations continue, otherwise they will not get anything. It is a well-thought-out strategy of the government to not increase the circle rate and get land at a cheap price.
