A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning in Palamu district of Jharkhand, when a motorcycle was hit by a high-tension electric wire, killing a 45-year-old man and his 12-year-old son. The police confirmed that the incident took place in Khargara village of Haidernagar police station area. According to Hydernagar police station in -charge Afzal Ansari, the victim Bindu Mehta and his son Vipin Mehta were going to bring diesel for the generator set used at a family wedding, when his motorcycle collided with a wire of 11,000 volts. The high tension wire was broken and lying on the road, which eventually fell into a nearby canal. Both father and son were severely scorched due to electric shock and died on the spot. His motorcycle was also completely destroyed due to electric shock. The sad thing is that this incident happened a few hours before Bindu Mehta’s niece’s marriage, which turned the moment of celebration into deep weeds. Local residents expressed anger and grief, holding the negligence of the electricity department responsible for the incident. He claimed that the wire breakdown by the Electricity Department was not cured in time, while it was a major threat.
Soon after the incident, family members and villagers reached the spot. The entire village is drowned in sorrow, because the happiness that was a chance to fades due to loss. The bereaved family is in shock, struggling to deal with sudden deaths.
