FIR registered against former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh in Madhya Pradesh today. The Crime Branch of Bhopal Police has registered an FIR under Digvijay Singh for spreading religious hysteria and other sections after controversial tweet on the sensitive issue today.

Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh made several tweets related to communal violence in Khargone district today. During this, he also tweeted a photo. It is seen that some persons wearing sharp weapons and saffron are hoisting saffron on a mosque. Soon after this, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also tweeted and said that Digvijay Singh has given wrong information through tweet. He wrote that the photo tweeted by Digvijay of hoisting the saffron flag is not from Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, Shivraj accused Digvijay of conspiring to spread religious frenzy.
The tweet was later removed
Shivraj Chauhan had also said that there is a conspiracy to throw the state in the fire of riots. This is not going to be tolerated. Since then, it was believed that legal action could be taken against Digvijay Singh. Although Digvijay Singh had removed this photo from the tweet after some time. On the complaint of a person named Prakash Pandey, a resident of Bhopal, the police registered a case against Digvijay Singh here under sections 58/22, 153A(1), 295A, 465 and 505(2) of the IPC and took the matter into the investigation.

The complainant has also handed over the screenshots of Digvijay Singh’s tweet and other documents to the police. It has been said in the complaint that Digvijay Singh has played with the sentiments of Hindus by tweeting on the basis of forged compositions and in the context of Khargone incidents. Along with this, efforts have been made to create an atmosphere of enmity among different sects and classes. The complaint states that the photo tweeted by Digvijay Singh is originally from Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.
Congress leaders kept silent
After Digvijay Singh’s tweet, there were sharp reactions from BJP leaders throughout the day. On the other hand, Congress leaders have distanced themselves from this matter by keeping a kind of silence on this issue. Earlier, State Home Minister Narottam Mishra had said that the government is taking opinion from legal experts regarding legal action in Digvijay’s controversial tweet case. He said that Digvijay Singh wants to fuel communal tension by spreading confusion. The picture he posted on his social media account of hoisting the flag in the mosque is not from Madhya Pradesh.
