New Delhi. Based on a complaint lodged by a person, Kolkata Police has registered an FIR against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and Book My Show. The complainant argues that a large number of tickets meant for the general public for the much-awaited India-South Africa match to be held on November 5 at the Eden Gardens have been secretly diverted through black-market channels. This has given rise to serious concerns regarding the availability of tickets for cricket fans wishing to watch the much-awaited match.
Serious allegations came to light
The complainant alleged that BCCI, CAB and certain officials of Book My Show planned to stockpile a significant portion of the tickets, which were originally meant for the general public. Upon receiving the complaint, Kolkata Police acted swiftly and filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused entities. Following this, notices have been issued to both the Cricket Association of Bengal and Book My Show, mandating the presence of a competent authority before the Kolkata Police for further investigation. This development underlines the seriousness of the allegations and reflects the commitment of the authorities to ensure transparency and fairness in the distribution of tickets for such high-profile sporting events.
