Mumbai. A fire broke out in a six-storey corporate building in suburban Mulund area of Maharashtra capital Mumbai on Tuesday morning. However, the fortunate thing was that about 50 people present in the building were evacuated safely in time. Giving information about this, officials said, a Municipal Corporation official said that the fire broke out on the sixth floor at around 9.25 am on Tuesday and due to smoke filling the building, these people were trapped on different floors.
The official said that due to the spread of fire nearby, people there were evacuated safely with the help of stairs. He said, ‘There is no news of anyone getting injured so far.’
Another official said that the fire broke out on the sixth floor of Avier Corporate Park located on LBS Road. He said that the fire caused extensive damage to the building’s wires, electrical equipment, AC, wooden furniture and official documents.
A fire department official said that at least four fire vehicles reached the spot to extinguish the fire. He said that personnel of Mumbai Police, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and other agencies have been sent to the spot.
