A fierce fire broke out in a warehouse in Kesarganj, Ajmer this morning, causing a loss of millions of rupees. On receiving information about the fire, the Clock Tower Police Station reached the spot and informed the fire department. Since oil, sugar and other food items were kept in the warehouse, the fire spread rapidly. The warehouse was named Banshiram Kartarchand near Lal Kothi in Kesarganj and is owned by Manmohan Singh, a resident of Alwar Gate.
It is being told that the fire started around 3 pm last night, after which the police and fire department teams immediately reached the spot and started rescue work. More than 10 fire engines were deployed to control the fire. The fire could be controlled after about two hours of hard work.
Initial investigation has revealed that the cause of the fire was a short circuit. The barrels of oil, sugar and other food items kept in the warehouse were completely burnt to ashes. In addition, two of the three vehicles parked inside the warehouse were taken safely, while a bike caught fire and burned completely.
On receiving the information of the incident, South CO Omprakash and Clock Tower Police Station Incharge Virendra Singh Shekhawat also reached the spot. He took stock of the situation and monitored relief and rescue operations. The fire department teams continued to extinguish the fire to prevent the fire from spreading in the surrounding areas.
Lakhs of rupees are expected to be lost from the fire. All the items kept in the warehouse were destroyed, causing heavy economic loss to the owner.
