Lucknow,. A fierce fire broke out late on Monday night at Lokbandhu Hospital in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. After this, more than 200 patients were admitted to various other hospitals in the city in an emergency.
According to the information, the fire broke out on the second floor of the building. The fire spread rapidly before the patient and employee could fully understand the situation. According to a doctor at the civil hospital, one of the 24 patients admitted to the civil hospital has died, while the rest of the condition is said to be stable.
As soon as the incident was reported, several fire engines along with the local police reached the hospital from Krishna Nagar police station. The fire could be controlled after several hours of hard work.
According to hospital officials, the cause of the fire is being considered initially a short circuit. The hospital’s power supply was immediately cut off, using a generator for electricity and lights, the work of extinguishing the fire was started.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak visited the spot and was informed about rescue and relief efforts.
He said that 200 patients have been sent to other hospitals including King George Medical University (KGMU), Balrampur Hospital and Civil Hospital. Seriously sick patients have been admitted to KGMU’s ICU, while others have been kept for care in Balrampur and Civil Hospitals.
Dr. Ajay Shankar Tripathi, Medical Superintendent of Lokbandhu Hospital, said that the fire started at around 10 pm and now the situation is completely under control.
With the help of medical staff, security personnel and rescue teams, all the patients inside the hospital were taken out safely. Despite the chaos due to the sudden fire, the hospital staff, including doctors, nurses and attendants, immediately took action.
Information Director Shishir Singh confirmed that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took immediate cognizance of the incident. He was informed over the phone and instructed to reach the hospital and ensure complete security and medical care for all the affected.
