New Delhi. One of the two accused seen firing shots outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai house in CCTV footage is suspected to be from Gurugram. Delhi Police sources gave this information on Sunday. Mumbai Police has registered an FIR in connection with the firing by two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle on Sunday morning outside Salman Khan’s residence.
Police said they have recovered a motorcycle about a kilometer away from the actor’s house and it is suspected that it was used by the attackers. According to a Bandra Police official, an FIR has been registered against an unknown person under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. The officer said that at around 5 am, two persons fired four bullets outside ‘Galaxy Apartments’ located in Bandra area and ran away. Actor Salman Khan lives in this building.
An official source of Delhi Police said that it is suspected that one of the accused is from Gurugram, who has been involved in several incidents of murder and robbery in Haryana. He is wanted in the murder case of Gurugram-based businessman Sachin Munjal in March. Foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara had claimed responsibility for Munjal’s murder through an alleged social media post. He is a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol and Goldie Brar.
Hours after the firing outside Salman Khan’s house on Sunday, Anmol Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the incident through a purported online post and issued a warning to the Bollywood actor saying it was a trailer, police sources said. In March last year, an e-mail was sent to the actor’s office threatening Khan, following which the Mumbai Police filed a case under section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldie Brar and another. An FIR was registered under sections.
The FIR was lodged on the basis of a complaint given by Prashant Gunjalkar to Bandra Police. According to police, Gunjalkar often visits Khan’s Bandra residence and runs an artist management company. Police had earlier said that the e-mail said that Khan must have seen the interview given by Lawrence Bishnoi to a news channel and if he has not, he should watch it. In the e-mail, Gunjalkar was told that if Khan wanted to close the matter, he should talk to Goldie Bhai face to face. According to the police, it was said that there is still time, but next time, there will be a shock. Police had said that in June 2022, an unknown person had threatened Khan through a handwritten letter.
