The world’s biggest democratic festival has started. The first phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in India has concluded on Friday, April 19. In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting has been completed on 102 seats in 21 states and union territories. According to the information given by the Election Commission, a total of 60.03 percent voting took place in various Lok Sabha seats of the country. However, the voting percentage is likely to increase once reports are received from all polling stations.

Under Lok Sabha elections 2024, there are 39 seats in Tamil Nadu, 5 in Uttarakhand, 2 in Arunachal Pradesh, 2 in Meghalaya, 1 in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 1 in Mizoram, 1 in Nagaland, 1 in Puducherry, 1 in Sikkim and 1 in Lakshadweep. But voting has taken place. Apart from this, voting will be held on 12 seats in Rajasthan, 8 in Uttar Pradesh, 6 in Madhya Pradesh, 5 each in Assam and Maharashtra, 4 in Bihar, 3 in West Bengal, 2 in Manipur and 1 seat each in Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir and Chhattisgarh. According to the update released by the Election Commission, Tripura has recorded the highest voting percentage of 80.35 percent. At the same time, the least votes were cast in Bihar at 48.50 percent. Voting was recorded at 77.57 percent in West Bengal, 73.76 percent in Puducherry, 72.27 percent in Assam and 74.33 percent in Meghalaya.
Apart from this, 59.02 percent voters cast their votes in Lakshadweep, 60.25 percent in Uttar Pradesh, 63.99 percent in Andaman Nicobar, 56.91 percent in Nagaland, 56.54 percent in Maharashtra, 54.25 percent in Mizoram, 54.27 percent in Uttarakhand and 57.26 percent in Rajasthan. On the other hand, there was 69.58 percent voting for Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and 70.80 percent voting for Sikkim Assembly elections.
Second phase of voting on 26 April
