Maharashtra Rain weather Update: Flood-like conditions have arisen in many areas of Maharashtra due to rain. After heavy rains in Nashik, the Godavari river is flowing above the danger level. There is water everywhere here. The roads are flooded up to the knees. Apart from Nashik, there are reports of heavy rains in many places in Pune and Mumbai as well.
In Maharashtra’s Nashik, the water of the Godavari river has crossed the banks and entered the populated areas. Houses in low-lying areas have also been flooded.
On the other hand, due to heavy rains in Pune and water released from Khadakvasla dam, many settlements of the city have been flooded. Army personnel have been deployed to take people to safe places and supply relief material.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has asked the officials to remain alert after water is released from Khadakvasla, Mulshi, Pavana and other dams in Pune. The Chief Minister has directed that if needed, steps should be taken to evacuate people from dangerous areas to safe places with the help of National Disaster Response Force-NDRF, State Disaster Response Force-SDRF and Army. He said that people living in dangerous areas near rivers and dams should be evacuated to safe places.

The Chief Minister has directed the administration to make arrangements for the safety of people living in low-lying areas of Pune including Ekta Nagar, Dattawadi, Patil Estate, Yerwada, Shivaji Nagar, Court Complex, Kamgar Putla Area, Harris Bridge and Dapodi.
Irrigation department officials said 35,000 cusecs of water was released from the Khadakvasla dam in Pune district on Sunday following heavy rainfall in the last fortnight.
The Meteorological Department-IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain in Pune city and other areas of the district. Heavy rains occurred at many places here on Sunday as well. Heavy rains occurred in the Ghat area of Pune district in the last two days.
