Tata Motors bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Company in 2008, since then there was no Indian CEO in these companies, but recently P.B. Balaji has been declared the new Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar and Land Rover. He is the first Indian to become the CEO of a British car brand. Both these car brands are British and are known for making luxury cars.

P.B. Talking about Balaji, he has been working with the Tata group for a long time. He has also been board members of several subsidiaries of the company, including Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Air India, Jaguar Land Rover Automotive PLC (UK), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. P.B. Balaji has long been associated with Tata Motors for the betterment of these companies, due to which the Tata Motors Group has given P.B. Balaji has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer. On August 4, 2025, Balaji was declared the Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar and Land Rover during admission to the stock exchange.
Talking about the education of PB Balaji, he has done a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras in 1991 and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Calcutta in 1993. Mr. Balaji started his career with Unilever in 1995, after which he served as Chief Financial Officer in India, Switzerland, UK and Singapore. He was the Chief Financial Officer of Hindustan Unilever Limited as of 2017.
He was then appointed as the Group Chief Financial Officer at Tata Motors, after which he was made the non-executive director of Jaguar and Land Rover. Currently, PB is the main financial officer of Unilever. Balaji Tata’s subsidiaries such as Titan Company, Tata Consumer Products, Agrateas Limited, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, Tata Motors Finance Group, Air India and Agrateas are members of the Executive Committee of Energy Energy Solutions. Balaji will take over as Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar and Land Rover.
