New Delhi. Voting is being held today on 58 seats in 8 states due to the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar accidentally went to the wrong booth in Delhi. He stood in line for 20 minutes but later found out that his name was not in the voter list and had to return. Later he reached the right booth and cast his vote for the sixth phase of elections. Jaishankar was awarded the First Male Voter Certificate for being the first male voter. Jaishankar voted at Shahjahan Road Adarsh Vidya, as his name was listed there. However, he initially mistakenly went to the Atal Adarsh Vidya booth located at Tughlaq Lane, where neither his nor his wife’s name was on the list. After standing in line for 20 minutes, he left and reached the right booth.
After voting in the sixth phase, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was honored with the first voter certificate. He said, “We have just voted, and showing my first voter certificate, I can say that I am the first male voter at this booth. We expect massive voting today, as this is a time of a very important decision for the country.” He further expressed confidence that the voters of Delhi will once again support developed India and the Modi government, he believes that Modi’s government will be re-elected.

Before casting their votes, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his wife mistakenly went to the Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya booth at Tughlaq Lane, where their names were not in the voters’ list. They later realised they were at the wrong booth and reached Shahjahan Road Adarsh Vidyalaya, where they successfully cast their vote. The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections will cover Delhi (7 seats), Uttar Pradesh (14), Odisha (6), Haryana (10), Bihar (8), West Bengal (8), Jharkhand (4), and Jammu and Kashmir (1).
