New Delhi, Former Delhi government minister Rajkumar Anand has been disqualified from the membership of the assembly. Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal has given this information. Rajkumar Anand resigned from the post of minister in the Aam Aadmi Party and the Delhi government in April. He contested the Lok Sabha elections from New Delhi seat on a BSP ticket, but could not win.
Rajkumar Anand was made the Social Welfare Minister in the Kejriwal government. But after the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in April, he left both the Aam Aadmi Party and the ministerial post. He had alleged that the purpose for which the party was formed is not being fulfilled. The Assembly Speaker had issued a notice against him for contesting elections from a different party and had sought an answer.
On receiving the notice, two days ago Rajkumar Anand had said that I have received a show cause notice. But I have not yet responded to it. I am taking legal advice on this issue. As soon as I get the advice, I will send a reply to the notice to the Speaker of the Assembly. On the other hand, Speaker of the Assembly Ram Niwas Goyal had said that the former minister did not respond to the notice. We want to give him a chance.
