Death of Natwar Singh
Former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh died on Saturday night after a prolonged illness. He was 93 years old. He breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, where he was admitted for treatment of illness for the last several weeks. Natwar Singh was born in 1931 in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. Natwar Singh’s funeral is to be held in Delhi on Sunday. He was unwell for some time.
Surjewala expressed grief
Senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala has expressed grief over the death of Natwar Singh. Surjewala wrote on the social media platform X, ‘The news of the death of former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh is sad. May God give strength to his family to bear this loss and grant peace to the departed soul.’
He was the foreign minister from 2004 to 2005
Former Congress MP Natwar Singh was India’s foreign minister for the period 2004-05 during the UPA-I government led by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He also served as ambassador to Pakistan. He was also associated with the office of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1966 to 1971.
Rajasthan CM expressed grief
Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma has expressed grief over the death of Natwar Singh. CM Bhajanlal wrote on the social media platform X, ‘The news of the death of former Foreign Minister of the Government of India and Padma Vibhushan awardee Natwar Singh is extremely sad. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed soul in his feet and give strength to the bereaved family in this hour of grief.’
Natwar Singh wrote many books
Let us tell you that Natwar Singh was awarded Padma Bhushan in the year 1984. Natwar Singh has also written many books. Natwar Singh was counted among the veteran leaders of Congress. He was very knowledgeable about foreign affairs.
