Congress leader and former Union Minister RPN Singh has left the Congress. Singh has submitted his resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. With the in-charge of Jharkhand Congress RPN Singh quitting the Congress, speculations of him joining the BJP have intensified in the political circles. RPN Singh has sent his resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday. In fact, before the announcement of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, there was speculation about this. In the midst of these speculations, Congress had also made him a star campaigner, expressing confidence in RPN Singh. But even after all these efforts, Congress could not stop RPN Singh.

RPN Singh made a tweet along with his resignation from Congress. Through this tweet, he said, ‘Today when the whole nation is celebrating Republic Day, I am starting a new chapter in my political life. Jai Hind.’

MLA from Padrauna assembly seat
RPN Singh was counted among the strong leaders of the Congress. He has also been a Congress MLA from Padrauna assembly seat in 1996, 2002 and 2007. In the 1999 Lok Sabha elections, RPN Singh had finished third. Whereas in 2004 he finished second.
Won in 2009 Lok Sabha elections
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Ratanjit Pratap Narayan Singh won the election and took over the responsibility of Minister of State for Surface Transport and Road, Minister of State for Petroleum and Minister of State for Home in the UPA-II government.
However, once again in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, RPN Singh was defeated by BJP candidate Rajesh Pandey by 85,540 thousand votes.

May join BJP
After resigning from the Congress, speculations have intensified in the political circles that he may join the BJP. The news of him joining BJP is also coming out till 3 pm. It is believed that after joining BJP, he can contest from Padrauna seat on BJP ticket. In fact, from this seat, the Samajwadi Party has fielded Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the BJP. Kunwar Ratanjit Narayan Singh or RPN Singh is from the princely state of Padrauna. He is called the Raja Saheb there. He was born on 25 April 1964 in Delhi. He belongs to Kshatriya family of Kushinagar.
