New Delhi. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has given a gift to freedom fighters and their dependents by increasing their pension amount. Along with this, the Haryana government has also increased the monthly pension given to the mother tongue satyagrahis of Hindi Movement-1957. At the same time, the pension of the fighters who fought to protect democracy and the Constitution during the Emergency has also been increased. The increased pension will be applicable from July 1, 2024.
Giving information in this regard, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that as per the decision of the government, the amount of Samman Pension given to freedom fighters and their dependents has been increased from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 40 thousand. At the same time, the monthly pension given to the mother tongue Satyagrahis of Hindi Movement-1957 has also been increased to Rs 20 thousand. Saini also announced to increase the pension of the fighters during the Emergency to Rs 20 thousand. Referring to the Emergency, the Chief Minister said that the atrocities and excesses that took place during that time cannot be forgotten.
The CM saluted the satyagrahis who raised their voice during the Emergency to save the dignity of democracy and the Constitution. He said that during the Emergency, those who suffered oppression and went to jail to protect the Constitution and democracy, our government started a pension of Rs 10,000 for them. Today I announce to increase the pension amount to Rs 20,000. CM Naib Singh Saini said that democracy fighters and their widows will get free travel facility in Haryana Roadways’ ordinary buses and 75 percent of their fare will be waived in Volvo buses. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the facility of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is being provided.
