Patna. The action of DRI i.e. Directorate of Revenue Information against gold smugglers is continuing in Bihar. In this sequence, the special team of DRI has seized 28 gold biscuits from a car near Hathidah in Patna district. The weight of the seized gold biscuits is 3 kg 262 grams. Its market value is said to be Rs 2 crore 34 lakh. According to the information received, DRI officials have taken this action on Sunday. Two smugglers have also been arrested in this. Both of them were mainly doing career work.

After investigation, the DRI team has found that this consignment of gold was smuggled from Bangladesh and was brought to Kolkata via Malda in West Bengal. From here, both the carriers were taking it to Muzaffarpur by car. It is being told that it was to be hidden somewhere in Muzaffarpur under the protection of some jewelers. DRI suspects that this smuggling game is going on under the protection of jewelers.

It is being told that earlier also these people have brought some consignments in this manner. Both the arrested smugglers are being questioned. Based on the information received after the interrogation, a large scale action is expected. For security reasons, the names and identities of both the smugglers have been kept confidential. On the basis of the identity of these two, the DRI team is trying to reach the main masterminds of smuggling.

It is worth noting that a few months ago, the DRI team had caught a large consignment of gold. DRI is continuously taking action on a large scale to curb gold smuggling.
