Jaipur. In this monsoon session, the dams and reservoirs have started spilling with good rains across the state. So far, a total of 226 dams of the state have been completely filled or overflowed. Expressing happiness over good rain, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that this is auspicious sign of prosperity and prosperity of the state. Due to this rain, greenery has been covered in the state and crops are blooming in the fields. There is enthusiasm among all sections including farmers due to the filler of water sources.
Sharma said that the meaningful results of the motherland campaign from the Karmabhoomi run by the state government and the Vande Ganga Water Conservation-Jan Abhiyan are now visible. The excess water of rain is going into the ground through the recharge shaft and water conservation structures constructed under the Matrubhoomi Abhiyan from Karmabhoomi and the groundwater is being reconstituted. He said that under this campaign, 45 thousand water structures will be made in the next four years with the help of migrant Rajasthanis.
The Chief Minister said that in the same way, under the Vande Ganga Water Conservation-Jan Abhiyan run across the state, water conservation and harvesting works are also helping in rainwater harvesting. Under this, works related to repair, cleaning, improvement of drainage system, removal of encroachment, shramdaan, plantation, water harvesting and water conservation structures were done in the dam areas. Due to these efforts, rainwater is directly reaching the reservoirs.
Sharma appealed to the people of the state to take special precautions during the rainy season. Be completely cautious to protect against heavy rains, celestial electricity and other natural disasters. Also, stay away from the flow areas and dilapidated buildings of river-drains and avoid crossing waterlogging routes and bridges.
Monsoon still remains 2 months, so far 87.07 percent rainfall
It is noteworthy that the state has recorded 369.79 mm rainfall from June 1 to July 28, 2025. This is the normal rainfall in this time period from 196.79 mm to 87.91 percent. Normal rainfall in the state in the monsoon period is considered an average of 424.71 mm. Thus, so far 87.07 percent rainfall has been recorded, while the monsoon period is believed to be till 30 September. It also shows the situation of better water storage this year. The highest rainfall in this monsoon in the state was recorded in 1261 mm Ramganj Mandi area of Kota district.
75.33 percent water stored in dams
The total filler capacity of a total of 693 dams under the state’s Water Resources Department is 13026.511 MQM. Out of this, 9813.162 MQM water is currently stored. This is 75.33 percent of the total full filler capacity. In dams, 4167.89 MQM (32 percent) water has come from 15 June to 28 July 2025. The total full filler capacity of 23 large dams of the state is 8196.754 MQM, with 6896.52 MQM (84.14 percent) of water stored. At the same time, 4829.756 MQM in 670 medium and small dams is filled at 2916.64 MQM (60.39 percent) of water at full filling capacity.
6 gates were opened on Monday of Bisalpur Dam at Tonk. This is the first time the dam has overflowed in the month of July itself. At the same time, 13 gates of Navnera Dam at Kota have been opened. Water flow has started due to good rains in the catchment area of Israda dam. Water will be collected from Bisalpur to Israda in the coming time. Also, many dams have also come at full filling capacity.
