The situation in Jaisalmer, bordering the India-Pakistan border, is still tense. In the last 24 hours, the district administration has taken very strict measures after the incidents of suspected flying goods, drones and missiles being found in various rural areas of the district. Keeping in mind the national security, a complete ban has been imposed on drone operations on the entire border of Jaisalmer district.
According to the order issued by the Jaisalmer District Collector, under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code 2023, drone operations in the district have been banned with immediate effect. The order clarified that drone flights can pose a serious threat to national security due to the geographical location of the district and proximity to the Pakistan border, so there will be a complete ban on any type of drone flight operations in the district.
The administration has instructed all drone operators and holders to submit their drones to the concerned or nearest police station today. If they do not do so, strict legal action will be taken against them. Along with this, the administration has also banned social programs, especially decorative lighting in wedding ceremonies and the use of drones at night. The order states that if any person is found to be doing lighting or drone activity at night at any house, establishment or venue, strict legal action will be taken against the persons concerned.
The police has appealed to the general public not to pay attention to any rumor and stand with the police and administration. All citizens are expected to fully cooperate in the security system and strictly follow the instructions issued by the district administration. Alert has been issued in the district after getting drone and missile debris this morning near Mangalio’s Dhani and Jayamala villages in Bhagu village of Jaisalmer. In view of the seriousness of the situation, the district administration has implemented a complete lockdown in Jaisalmer city and rural areas and all markets, shops and commercial establishments have been asked to be closed till the next order. Apart from this, a complete ban has also been imposed on all types of social, religious, cultural and political programs.
