Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday justified the thrice hike in fuel prices in the last four days, saying the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has pushed up the oil prices in the international market. He also said that this situation is beyond the control of the Government of India.
Road Transport and Highways Minister Gadkari also said in the session ‘New India, New Manifesto-Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ at the ‘Ideas of India’ conference of ‘ABP Network’ here that, “Sometimes Hindutva is misinterpreted. is offered.”
When asked about the hike in petrol and diesel prices, he said, “80 per cent of oil is imported into India. Oil prices have increased in the international market amid the Russo-Ukraine war and there is nothing we can do about it. There is a need to make our own fuel, emphasizing the need to develop indigenous power generation capabilities.
Petrol and diesel prices were also hiked by 80 paise per liter on Saturday, the fourth increase in five days.
Stating that the Supreme Court has termed Hindutva as a way of life, Gadkari said religion and community are different from each other. “So sometimes, Hindutva is interpreted as anti-Christian and anti-Muslim. In the last seven years (since the Modi-led NDA government came to power), no central government scheme has been discriminatory against anyone. There was no communal approach in our plans.
