New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s star batsman Virat Kohli has praised young batsman Riyan Parag. Riyan Parag made his debut in ODI international cricket through the third and final match of the series against Sri Lanka. Kohli said that head coach Gautam Gambhir, selectors and captain Rohit have seen something special in you. You have been successful in winning their trust. Kohli handed the ODI cap to Parag, who is making his debut, before the third ODI being played in Colombo. After trailing 0-1 in the three-match ODI series, India gave Parag a chance to debut before the third and final match at the R Premadasa Stadium.

In a small ceremony before the start of the game, Kohli said in a video shared by the BCCI, “Riyan (Parag), first of all congratulations on playing your first match for India. In today’s cricket we all know that apart from performance, people who are responsible for your selection have been watching you and they have seen something special in you. I have spoken to Jiji bhai (head coach Gautam Gambhir), the selectors, Rohit (Sharma) and everyone and they have seen something special in you.”
