The film had earned Rs 47.31 crore in the first four days of its release and all eyes were on Tuesday’s earnings as Gangubai was almost certain to get the benefit of the Shivratri holiday on Tuesday. Gangubai Kathiawadi performed better than expected on the first day and took an opening of around Rs 10.5 crore. The film did its best on Saturday, earning around Rs 13.32 crore and the film’s collection reached Rs 15.30 crore on Sunday. The box office of the film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ stood at Rs 8.19 crore on Monday. The film has collected around 9.5 crores on the fifth day.
The total collection of Alia Bhatt’s film so far is believed to be 56.81. Not only this, Ajith Kumar’s film Valimai and Pawan Kalyan’s film Bhimla Nayak are also giving a tremendous competition to Gangubai. After the success of Pushpa, the inclination of the audience of English belt has increased more towards South Indian cinema.
If the film continues to grow in the second week also, then the film has a chance to join the 100 crore club. However, Gangubai has only 2 days left for the best collection as Amitabh Bachchan’s sports drama Jhund is also releasing in theaters on March 4. The distribution rights of the film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ in theaters are said to be sold for Rs 90 crore. Gangubai Kathiawadi is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and stars Alia in the lead role.
