Dholpur In the old city locality of Kotwali police station area, there was a stir on the occasion of Bakrid on Tuesday when a gas cylinder exploded while cooking in a house. In this accident, the household items kept in the house, including Scooty, were burnt down, while the landlord was marginally burnt.
Landlord Zafar (39) said that food was being made in the house due to the festival. Meanwhile, the cylinder pipe caught fire from leakage. All the family members went out as soon as the fire broke. Shortly after, there was a strong explosion in the cylinder.
The roof strips of the house were uprooted by the blast and scooty and other items kept in the house were burnt to ashes. Local people immediately tried to extinguish the fire by pouring water. During this, Zafar’s feet were scorched.
As soon as the information was received, the Kotwali police and the fire brigade team reached the spot. Fire personnel controlled the fire. It is a matter of honor that in time all the family members got out, which averted a big accident.
The landlord Zafar has demanded the district administration to get compensation for the loss. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the area. Police has started the investigation of the matter.
