New Delhi. After the ICC T20 World Cup, Gautam Gambhir was made the new coach of Team India. Gautam Gambhir had said that he wants to make South Africa’s Morne Morkel the new bowling coach of Team India. There is news that fast bowler Morne Morkel can be made the bowling coach of Team India. This has been revealed in a report.

According to Cricbuzz report, Morne Morkel can be made the new bowling coach of the Indian team. He can play the role of bowling coach in the Test series against Bangladesh. His official appointment is expected before the team’s home series in September. It is not yet clear whether Sairaj Bahutule will be selected as the head bowling coach or not. He is currently working as the acting bowling coach in Sri Lanka.

Let us tell you that both Gambhir and Morkel have had a good relationship in Lucknow Super Giants. Where, Gambhir worked as a mentor for two years. After Gambhir joined Kolkata Knight Riders and head coach Andy Flower moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore, Morkel remained as the bowling coach of the franchise along with new head coach Justin Langer.

Gambhir has earlier also requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to consider Morkel’s name for the post of bowling coach. Morkel has played 86 Tests, 117 ODIs and 44 T20 matches between 2006 and 2018. It will be interesting to see whether he is made the new bowling coach of Team India or not.
