According to this new study, Generation Z and Millennials are at higher risk of 17 types of cancer.
The study revealed that these 17 types of cancer include gastric cardia, small intestine, estrogen receptor positive breast, ovary, liver and intrahepatic bile duct, non-HPV-associated oral and pharynx cancer in women. While in men, these include anal, colon and rectal, uterine corpus, gall bladder and other bile, kidney and renal pelvis, pancreas, myeloma, non-cardia gastric, testis, leukemia and Kaposi sarcoma.
What is Generation Z, who are at higher risk of cancer?
This study has revealed that cases of small intestine, kidney and pancreatic cancer were two to three times higher in people born in the early 1990s compared to those born in the late 1950s. Also, women born in the 50s had a lower risk of liver, oral and throat cancer than millennials. However, if you were born in the 1950s, then your risk of uterine cancer is 169% higher.
Which test is necessary to identify cancer?
