Germany is considering keeping India out of the G-7 meeting for not speaking out against Russia over the attack on Ukraine. Germany is going to host a meeting of Group-7 countries from 26 to 28 June, but is considering keeping it away from India. Bloomberg has made such a claim in its report quoting people associated with the matter. Sources said that Germany is considering to include Senegal, South Africa and Indonesia as guests in the G-7 meeting. Actually the guest list was prepared even before the attack on Ukraine, in which India was also there. But now this list is being considered.
However, in the meantime, some media reports have quoted the German government as saying that there is no such idea about India. A resolution was brought to the United Nations to exclude Russia from the Human Rights Council. 50 countries including India had distanced themselves from voting on this proposal. Apart from this, India has also not imposed sanctions on Russia. Not only this, cheap oil is also working on a plan to buy it on a large scale. India has also been buying arms from Russia on a large scale. Recently, India has also procured the S-400 missile defense system from Russia.
German government bid – will soon finalize guest list
Speaking to Bloomberg, German government spokesman Steffen Hebstraat said that the guest list of the G-7 will be finalized soon. He said the chancellor has reiterated many times that as many of Germany’s international partners as possible impose sanctions against Russia. There has been no response from the Government of India till now. However, Germany itself is facing criticism from Ukraine and Poland.
Germany’s dependence on Russia, itself is facing criticism
In fact, Germany continues to import oil and gas from Russia. Many European countries, including Germany, have dependencies on Russia. Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also pointed out. On the question of India importing oil from Russia, he had said that the amount we import in a month, Europe does it in one afternoon.
