Knee transplant will be done in ESIC hospital itself
With the introduction of this facility in ESIC Hospital, the patients of the hospital will get relief. Earlier, the patients here had to go to another hospital for hip and knee transplant. Every month more than 10 such patients come to ESIC Hospital for treatment. These patients will get surgery facility near their home. Due to which they will not have to go far for consultation with the doctor after transplant. Earlier, the patients had to go to ESIC Hospital in Delhi and Faridabad for transplant.
The transplant will take place on the first and last Friday
ESI Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Sona Vedi said that some changes have been made in the treatment facilities of the patients. Earlier, the OPD of the Ophthalmology Department used to be available only four days a week. Along with this, the eye operations which used to be done on Monday and Thursday, will now be done on the first and third Friday of every month. At the same time, complaints of delay in operations were also received in the Orthopedics Department. In such a situation, in addition to two days a week, now the patients will be operated on the second and fourth Friday of every month in the Orthopedics Department. At the same time, till now, patients of total hip transplant and total knee transplant had to be referred to the Orthopedics Department. Now this facility will be available to the patients in this hospital.
