The country’s leading automaker Mahindra is making a splash in the SUV segment these days, while now growing in the country’s growing EV segment, the company is now preparing to launch electric vehicles to register its strength. In fact, Mahindra has announced that it will launch a fully electric version of the XUV300 in India in the third or fourth quarter of 2023.
Along with this, the domestic auto maker has said that it will reveal its complete EV strategy in the near future. Let us tell you, Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will compete with other automobile brands like Tata Motors, Hyundai and MG Motor when launched in India. Meanwhile, there is news that Maruti Suzuki is also preparing to launch its WagonR EV in the Indian market soon.
Notably, Mahindra currently sells its e-Verito compact electric sedan. However, this EV is available to government agencies and fleet operators, but not to private individual buyers. Mahindra Group Managing Director and CEO Anish Shah also said on Thursday that the automaker will focus on the electric three- and four-wheeler segment as of now, and a detailed EV product lineup strategy will be announced soon. The automaker said that its upcoming EVs will include some models that are available in ICE variants.

When will the electric SUV be launched?
He said, “We have already announced our plans to bring electric cars to India. In the third or fourth quarter of FY23, we will launch the fully electric XUV300. We are in the process of announcing our portfolio plan for electric vehicles in India and will let you know more soon.”
