The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the next generation model of its cheapest car Alto in the domestic market soon. This car has been spotted during testing, the special thing is that the company will offer it in petrol engine as well as CNG variant. It is not only one of the best selling cars of the company but also the cheapest car in the country.
The next generation model of Maruti Alto will be different from the current car in many ways. In this, the company is not only making changes in the exterior, but many big changes will be seen in the interior as well. According to media reports, the new Alto will be bigger in size, which will not only provide better space inside the cabin but also the advanced features will make this car even more special.
It will get a new front grille, new bumper and C-shaped fog lamps with new LED daytime running lights. It is believed that its side profile will be similar to the current model, but new bumpers and square taillamps can be seen in the rear. Features like touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, power steering wheel, dual airbags will be available inside the car.
The company will launch this car with a 796cc petrol engine as well as the K10C DualJet engine in the market. Which will come with ideal start/stop system. The new generation engine generates power of 67bhp and torque of 89Nm. At the same time, the current engine of 796cc generates 47bhp power and 69Nm torque.
However, no information has been received about the mileage figure of this car yet. But the company recently launched the next generation model of Celerio. Which is the highest mileage petrol car in the country. The company claims that the Celerio gives mileage of up to 26 kms. At the same time, the current petrol variant of Maruti Alto gives a mileage of 22 km and the CNG variant up to 31 km. It is expected that the next generation model of Maruti Alto will also give better mileage.
When will the car be launched:
Maruti Suzuki will rapidly update its vehicle portfolio this year. Right now no official information has been shared about the launch of the next generation model of this car, but if media reports are to be believed, then this car can be launched in the market on the occasion of Diwali this year. At present, the starting price of this car is Rs 3.15 lakh.
