Kolkata High Court Controversial Statement: Today the Supreme Court will give its verdict on the advice of the Calcutta High Court to girls to control their sexual desires. The Supreme Court had expressed its displeasure by taking suo motu cognizance of the matter. The High Court had made this remark in a case of sexual harassment.
In this case, the Supreme Court said that the courts should refrain from giving their personal opinion or preaching while giving a decision in any case. The Supreme Court had termed the High Court’s comment as extremely objectionable and unnecessary and called it a violation of fundamental rights under Article 21.
