Jagdalpur. In order to stop the increasing incidents of sexual harassment against women and girl students, Chhattisgarh government has launched Expression App. In case of any emergency, the police will reach the spot at the press of a button on the mobile. Apart from this, women can get help from the police by complaining about any other problem through this app. Under the leadership of DSP Headquarters, Pink Team, Dial 112 and Women’s Cell are making the college students aware about this scheme. So far 348 women have downloaded this app.
On January 1, the government has launched the Suraksha App with the aim of providing police assistance, online complaints, safety tips and emergency assistance to ensure the safety of women. Women will be completely safe by downloading this app on their mobile from Play Store. After the download process, an OTP will come, as soon as it is verified, the app will be activated. This app is equipped with SOS feature and panic button. In any unpleasant situation, the police will reach the user at the press of the button. Women will be able to register their complaints from anywhere through this.
The mobile number of the family or any well wisher will also be registered on the user’s mobile. With the press of the button, the location of the victim will reach the headquarters of dial 112 from the GPS Global Positioning System. This information and location will be sent to the respective command center in less than a minute. Depending on the distance, the police party will reach the respective location within five to twenty minutes. Through this app, women can also register complaints of rape, molestation, dowry harassment, domestic violence, assault, kidnapping, human trafficking, sexual harassment at workplace, cyber crime etc.
As soon as the complaint is registered, the investigation will be started by the concerned police station and the women’s cell. A DSP level officer has been made the nodal officer to oversee these services. Continuous monitoring of subordinate officers and employees will be done by them. In this app, the primary information of laws related to women’s rights has also been fed. Women can also study it by going to Apson.
Police is running awareness campaign
The police is running a campaign with the aim of making women, girl students and girls aware about the security app. So far, awareness camps have been organized in Surya College, Government Nursing College, Surya Degree College, Tokapal Government College. So far 348 women have got this app downloaded. Through the camp, police officers are giving detailed information about the use of the app and its benefits.
Was born from Sanjay Gandhi Ward
A 22-year-old girl resident of Sanjay Gandhi Ward of the city has planted the expression app. Through this, he has lodged a complaint of intimidation and extortion by the ward councillor. The investigation is being done by Mahila Police Station-in-charge. This is the first complaint through the security app in the district.
Awareness Workshop
In the first phase, awareness workshops are being organized by the police in the college campus. In the next phase, women will be made aware by organizing camps in the wards.
