Korba (Naiduniya Representative) Horticulture Department has taken another initiative to promote vegetable cultivation in place of traditional paddy. Now farmers will not need to tremble for vegetable cultivation. The Horticulture Department has started Sidli unit in about three acres in village Patadi. Here farmers will provide seeds. Healthy thartha will be returned within 20 to 25 days. The benefit of this would be that the farmers would get 100% of the seeds. 30 paise per tharha will be charged. If farmers ask for treated seed, then 80 paise will have to be paid per pound.
District Horticulture has started a campaign for cash crop production in less time. Under which farmers are being motivated to produce vegetables at low cost. For this, the department has started Sidley Unit Plant at Patadi Horticulture Center in the district. A certain temperature pressure is created for the type of environment required by the unit plant. The special thing is that in addition to the treated seed, tested soil is used for planting the seeds in the Sidli plant. If the departmental officer is to be believed, then the tharha gets ready in 22 to 25 days. Apart from vegetable crops like bitter gourd, gourd, kudru, cabbage, tomato, guava, papaya, mango, jamun, jackfruit, lemon etc. plants are also prepared in Sidli unit. It is the responsibility of the farmers to transport the prepared plants. Tharha is prepared according to favorable weather at Sidli Plant. Plants grown in gardens are generally susceptible to seasonal pests and disease. Plants prepared in Sidley Plant are treated with medicines so that there is no problem in transplanting from one place to another. Presently manual work is being done for planting seeds in the unit. In the future, sowing will be done by machine. Nearby farmers have got freedom from the hassle of trembling.
