Patna. There is great news for lakhs of teachers of Bihar. The government has declared holidays on Eid and Ram Navami. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said a big thing regarding teachers’ holidays. He has expressed dissatisfaction over teachers being deprived of leave due to the residential training programme.
According to the statement issued by the Education Department, the Bihar government on Monday announced holidays for school teachers on Eid-ul-Fitr and Ramnavmi. The Chief Minister has ordered that there will be a holiday on 10th and 11th April for Eid-ul-Fitr and 17th April for Ram Navami.
Training going on at 78 centers
State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) is organizing residential training programs for old and newly recruited teachers. Training for teachers is being conducted at 78 centers of the government across the state.
Controversy was going on during holidays
It is noteworthy that after the appointment of KK Pathak as Additional Chief Secretary in the Education Department, there is a continuous controversy over the leaves of teachers. Pathak had also issued orders last year especially regarding reduction in leave of teachers. Due to his order many festival holidays were cancelled. There was a lot of uproar over this.
Did not get leave on Holi
These days training of teachers is going on in Bihar. Due to this reason, I could not get leave even during the festival of Holi. During this period, teachers were trained and teachers from classes 1 to 5 were not given leave on Holi. After this, doubt had also arisen regarding the Eid holiday. However, the Chief Minister has ended all doubts on this and has made a formal announcement regarding the holidays.
