Good News! Patients will now get a hi-tech feeling at AIIMS Delhi, airport-like facilities will soon be available


New Delhi. AIIMS, Delhi’s largest hospital, has taken a new initiative for patients. According to AIIMS Director Dr. M. Srinivas, a big lounge will be built in AIIMS Delhi in the coming time. Patients and their relatives will be able to wait in this lounge. Dr. Srinivas said that such a facility has to be provided to the patients so that every kind of facility from coming and going inside the AIIMS campus is adequate so that the patients do not face any kind of problem.

The lounge will be like an airport
A big waiting lounge is being built in AIIMS by the Airport Authority of India. It will have seating arrangement for 500 people at a time. The waiting lounge will have facilities ranging from advanced urinals to comfortable seating.

The lounge will be open 24 hours
AIIMS has many such facilities for patients which are planned to be started for 24 hours. AIIMS administration believes that in such a situation there is a great need for a waiting lounge. AIIMS is trying to ensure that in the coming days, no patient or his attendant is forced to sleep on the floor.

50,000 people visit AIIMS every day
In AIIMS New Delhi, about 11 thousand patients are registered in a day. Usually, a patient is accompanied by two attendants. Along with this, there are about two and a half thousand doctors who see the patients. AIIMS has 18000 staff. In such a situation, about 50,000 people come to AIIMS every day. The biggest problem is regarding the waiting area for the patients.

Shuttle service from waiting lounge to OPD
Dr. (Prof.) Reema Dada, PIC, Media Cell said, “We want the travel of patients and their relatives visiting our campus to be very comfortable and hassle-free. For this, shuttle service is being started. She said that another set of these e-buses with modern facilities like low floor and wheelchair access will be provided exclusively to AIIMS patients and their caregivers.
