On Saturday night, miscreants killed a woman and her daughter with a sharp weapon in Shivpur Chakdaha village of Chauri Chaura. The miscreants carried out the incident at 1:45 pm on Saturday night. Police said the incident took place late Saturday in Shivpur Chakdaha village and the deceased have been identified as Poonam Nishad (40) and her younger daughter Anushka (10).
According to the police, Poonam’s elder daughter Khushboo (18) was sleeping in a separate room, so she survived. He later told the police that he had identified the voices of the attackers, one of whom has been identified as local youth Sanjay, his father and others. He said that Sanjay’s father had asked the attackers to kill Khushboo too, but by his information the police reached the spot, due to which the attackers fled from there. Police said that when the fragrance came out after the attackers left, he found his mother and sister soaked in blood. Poonam died on the spot, while Anushka died during treatment.
Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Jitendra Srivastava said, “The team of forensic experts has collected important evidence and many suspects have been detained for questioning. We are analyzing call records and CCTV footage to connect the incident. The case is being investigated. He said that the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav tried to surround Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the incident.
