Chandigarh Odisha Day was organized on Tuesday at Haryana Raj Bhavan. Odisha was formed as a separate state on 1 April 1936. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya hosted the event. He appreciated the invaluable contribution of the people of Odisha in the development of Haryana and the entire country.
The Governor highlighted Odisha’s rich cultural and historical heritage, and emphasized its intensive impact on India’s legacy. He said that Odisha is not only the land of ancient temples and rich traditions, but is also a state that has contributed significantly to the economic and social progress of India. The hardworking and skilled workforce of Odisha has also played an important role in the development of Haryana in various fields.
Along with the prestigious members of the Odia community living in Haryana, dignitaries from different regions also attended the ceremony. Atul Dwivedi, Secretary to the Governor, Amit Yashvardhan, ADC of the Governor and senior officials of Raj Bhavan were also present on the occasion.
The Governor reiterated the importance of unity in diversity and said that the cultural prosperity of Odisha strengthens India’s pluralistic ethos. He also appreciated the efforts of the Odia community in preserving and promoting his traditions by comfortable with the progressive environment of Haryana.
