On 2 March 2025, a report of serious fraud was lodged at Bahjoi police station. A person named Chandrasain, a resident of village Bahrauli, alleged that Vinod Putra Pancham Singh cheated and bought a tractor in the name of his dying son. After the death of his son, he illegally sold the tractor to another person. Not only this, Vinod prepared a fake document from the identity of his father and also took a policy under PMJJY (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana) and took advantage of it. On this complaint, the police have started investigating the case by registering a case at Bahjoi police station. Now in the investigation of this case, the police has received information about the big scam. Know what is the whole matter in the news?
Clues of Aadhaar scam found in Vinod’s mobile
When the police questioned the accused Vinod and examined his mobile phone, it found two separate Aadhaar cards of Pancham Singh (Vinod’s father). The two had the same Aadhaar number (… 1691), but the date of birth was different. The date of birth in one was 01.01.1955 and the second Aadhaar card was 01.07.1976 in the Aadhaar card. It was also learned that Pancham Singh’s Aadhaar card was linked to Vinod’s mobile. When the update history of Aadhaar was seen on the UIDAI website, it became clear that the birth date was intentionally changed to 21 years. During interrogation, Vinod told that he had done this by paying Rs 3000 to a person, so that the father’s age was less than 50 years and he could take the PMsjwai policy. For this, he did not give any documents, rather some people came to his house and took the fingerprint and details of his father on a machine.
Gang busted- 4 accused arrested
Intensive investigation revealed that Vinod was not alone, but the entire gang was working behind him, who was doing illegal business of changing age, address and mobile number in the Aadhaar card. The police have arrested 4 accused in this racket and sent them to judicial custody.
How did fake Aadhaar update racket work?
The gang began working in 2023. Ashish, who first updated Aadhaar, met a person named Kasim. Qasim said that the path of big money is in fake Aadhaar updates. There are many people who have to change their age or address illegally and they are ready to give thousands of rupees. Qasim taught to modify the fingerprint scanner so that people can change their base information at home. For this, these people changed the scanning machines of the Mantra brand and created a fake website, which looked like Aadhaar portal.
Web developer also part of gang
This portal was created by these people with one of their members who specialized in coding and web designing. The retailers collected people’s fingerprints and data on this portal and sent it to the gang.
Login from real base operator ID
Since the Aadhaar can be revised only with the ID of the authorized operator, the gangs either make access to these operators by luring or deception.
For this he:
Photo stolen from the operator’s iris scan, the prepared rubber print of the fingerprint neutralizes the GPS device so that no computer appears and entered the system by asking OTP for login from the operator.
During the investigation, the police also came to know that these people did not ask for documents, but prepared fake birth certificates themselves. Gangs in one year:
More than 400 people changed their base Aadhaar more than 1500 mobile numbers did not change the birth certificate, then after December 2024, when the birth certificate could not change, the gang started making fake passports. A separate portal for this was created https://passport.rtpsseva.online. Ashish said that he made more than 20 fake passports in February 2025, out of which he was successful in 4-5 cases.
