Srinagar . Jammu and Kashmir Police has achieved a major breakthrough in incidents of grenade throwing in the Valley after busting a module involved in throwing grenade in Srinagar city. The police gave this information on Wednesday. Police have arrested four terrorist associates linked to the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and also recovered four grenades from their possession.
On Wednesday evening, the police team arrested a terrorist associate, identified as Zubair Sheikh, a resident of Elahi Bagh Soura, from near Bemina Chowk and recovered a hand grenade from his possession.
Police said, “During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had received a grenade from another terrorist associate named Shamim Ahmed Chillu, a resident of Tankipora Shaheed Gunj. A grenade was handed over to Amir Rehman Dar from Bypass, Shahid Ahmad Mir and Zubair Sheikh from Dangarpora Nowgam, each.”
During subsequent raids, all the three terrorist associates were arrested and three more grenades were recovered from their possession.
