Guna (Madhya Pradesh). On the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav, a situation of tension arose in the Colonelganj region of Guna city when a religious procession was pelted. The incident took place on Saturday evening, when a procession took place from Samad Chowk on a procession from the temple in Madia Mohalla. According to eyewitnesses, the procession included about 40 to 50 children and youth, moving towards Hatrod Rapte via the Colonelganj route. The procession also included the idol of Hanuman ji. As soon as the procession reached near a religious place near Samad Chowk, stone pelting started from the crowd present there.
The attack caused a stampede on the spot. It is being told that only four to five policemen were present on the spot at that time, due to which the situation could not be controlled immediately.
On receiving the information of the incident, senior officers of the administration, including the Superintendent of Police, reached the spot with heavy police force. Light lathicharge was also done to control the situation.
Local sources say the attack may be pre -planned, although investigation by police is under investigation in this regard. The market has been closed as a precaution in the area and additional force has been deployed to monitor the situation.
The Superintendent of Police said that the situation is currently under control and continuous monitoring is being done to maintain peace. Appeal has also been made to avoid any rumor.
