Gwalior Cyber Crime: Gwalior, New Dunia Rep. On-line thugs blew away two and a half lakh rupees from Smriti Jain’s account by downloading quick support app. The complainant had searched the customer care number of ICICI Bank on Google to complain. On the report of Smriti Jain, the Crime Branch Police Station has registered a case of cheating against unknown online thugs on Sunday.
Manish Jain, a resident of Lalitpur Colony, Shankar Chowk, made a written complaint to the Crime Branch police station on Sunday and said that she had found the bank’s toll free number to make a complaint by searching the Google platform. After calling on this number, after some time a call came on his mobile number. The caller posing as a bank officer got the app downloaded to resolve the complaint. After downloading this app, two and a half lakh rupees were withdrawn from his account. The police is trying to find the thugs and get the money back.
Incidents of online fraud increased: Complaints of online fraud are increasing continuously in the city. Along with ATM fraud, there have also been incidents of people blowing money from their accounts in the name of downloading various apps. Even the police have failed to curb them. So far the police has not done much in these cases. Till now, online thugs of many people have become their victim. However, the cyber cell of the police is constantly keeping an eye on such cases.
Fraud case registered: Girwai police station on Sunday, Radha wife Rai Singh Bhadauria, resident of Gadha Wala Mohalla, has registered a case of cheating of four lakh rupees against Hevendra Goswami. This fraud has been done on the pretext of selling the land. The police is investigating the matter.
