Gwalior Hundi Scandal News: Jagendra Sen, Gwalior New Dunia. The state government has handed over the investigation of the hundi scandal of more than 70 crores to the CID on Wednesday. As soon as the order to hand over the investigation to the CID was issued from Bhopal, the CID officials have taken the case diary in their hand. Questions are being raised on handing over the investigation of this case to the CID without the demand of the traders.
The state government has taken this decision after the Chamber of Commerce announced a phased movement. On March 12, the traders had announced to close their establishments and put up black flags on the shops due to the Hundi scandal. To reduce the pressure of this movement, the investigation has been given to the CID. Now the trader is in a dilemma regarding this investigation. In this case, Kotwali police has arrested the main accused Ashu alias Ashish Gupta, his father Nathu Lal Gupta, servant and two cricket match bookies and sent them to jail. Now only two accused are yet to be arrested. The wife of the main accused and the bookie of the cricket match, Monu Dabra, is absconding.
Here is the case: Hundi broker Ashish Gupta resident Mainawali Gali suddenly disappeared on December 28. The disappearance of Ashish alias Ashu shocked the traders. Because the big businessmen of the city have put their crores of rupees on interest through Ashu. After Ashu’s disappearance, the traders came to know that after taking money from Ashu, the hundi that was handed over in the name of different traders was fake. Ashu ate this money. On January 3, the traders filed a case of fraud and fake counterfeiting against Ashu, his father Nathu Lal Gupta, husband and servant. Taking quick action, the police arrested Ashu. Ashu confessed that he had lost the traders money by betting on cricket matches. The police arrested the bookies of two cricket matches. One bookie Monu is yet to be arrested.
